About Me
I'm a Cape Town based play therapist and I was born and raised in South Africa.
I completed my Masters degree in Practice Based Play Therapy from Canterbury Christ Church University in the United Kingdom in 2014. I am an Accredited Play Therapist with Play Therapy International a certified as a Synergetic Play Therapist. I have also been trained in TraumaPlay and TheraPlay.
I am also a local representative for Play Therapy International's accredited training courses.

My husband and I have been blessed with two gorgeous little girls, from whom I have learnt as much as all my studies combined.
They have taught me that our feelings, thoughts and behaviour have an influence on one another and how important and wonderful it is to have a secure bond between parent and child.
About My Practice
As parents there are times when we all feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us or how to help them. If only there was a way to make sense of what your child really needed or was asking of you.
My practice is focused on how secure parent-child relationships are the foundation of healthy emotional and mental development in children. I incorporate the latest findings from research in neuroscience and attachment to strengthen and support these relationships, enabling both children and parents to thrive.
I also offer training on Developing Secure Attachments for various audiences including teachers, social workers, foster parents and adoptive parents.
Therapy for Children
Many parents and carers often worry when a child has a problem that causes them to be sad, disruptive, rebellious, unable to cope or inattentive.
You may be concerned about your child’s development, eating or sleeping patterns and how they are getting along with family, friends and at school.
Training events and conferences
I am available to present training events and speak at conferences on the topic of secure parent-child relationships as the foundation of healthy emotional and mental development in children.
Coaching for Parents
Parents are often the experts about their own children, but even the most caring parent sometimes lacks the basic information on what a central role the brain plays in every aspect of a child’s life that we as parents care about: discipline, decision making, self-awareness, school, relationships, etc.
Clinical Supervision
I offer clinical supervision to other play therapists in South Africa and abroad.
Clinical supervision is an essential part of working therapeutically with clients be they adults or children.
Short talks and presentations
Sometimes the parents or teachers I work with feel that it would benefit others they know or work with from learning more about the neuroscience of attachment.
In many cases it is not feasible to involve this audience in the therapy process or for them to attend formal training events on the topic.
Post Graduate studies in Play Therapy
If you are interested in pursuing a career as a play therapist or want to broaden the scope of your current practice, you should consider attending an accredited PTI course.
